White Sox 13  Diablos 9

Rangers 4  White Sox 7

Troy Flood pitched another yeoman effort--a complete game victory for the slumping White Sox.  Strong defense and solid hitting in the top of the order secured the win.--Stephen Boudreaux

White Sox 7  Athletics 17

Hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive, the A's were in a must win situation. The A's were swinging a hot bat all game long going 20 for 39 as a team.  Having a game that most guys can only dream of (waking up from a nap to arrive just in time for the game), Craig Marsh went 5 for 5 with a homerun and two doubles to lead the A's hitting attack.  John Stewart and Chris Davis each went 3 for 5 with Chris Davis picking up a triple.   Travis Hunt pitched really well for the Athletics, scrattering 8 hits, striking out 6 White Sox batters, to pick up his first win of the season.  Much thanks goes out to Charles Fowler for stepping in and being the ninth man for the Athletics.  Kenni Floyd led the White Sox hitting going 3 for 4 with two doubles and Steve Boudreaux going 2 for 4, also picking up a double.-- Dave Freshwater (A's)

Hurricanes 14  White Sox 10

White Sox 5  Hurricanes 7

Diablos 8  White Sox 18

What more can be said about Troy Flood and his gamesmanship?  Dunno.  The guy just shows up to play ball.  Flood made his 6th start almost in a row and his 4th complete game.  8 appearances in 10 games on the season is just ridiculous.  And a record of 5 wins and 2 losses.  Flood was even feeling ill this Sunday, but wanted to go the distance for the win.  In the game, the most impressive line for the White Sox was the first 8 hitters in the line up were a combined 24 for 36 in the seven innings.  That's a BA of .667 for you stats folks... I am working on the number 9 hitter and the EH.

White Sox 11  Athletics 6

Troy Flood came off a successful road trip to Minnesota with the Yankees to return to the mound for the Sox.  The magic is in the curve ball that had the A's mystified.  Flood pitched 7 2/3 innings giving up only 4 hits with 7 strike outs and 4 earned runs.  The old-school Flood also returned as he pegged 4 batsmen and was forced to leave the mound only one out shy of a 4th consecutive complete game.  The Bull, Andy Miller, jumped on the mound to power pitch the last out.  Boudreaux continued his consecutive multi-hit game streak going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and hitting a gaudy .679 on the year.  Rookie Kevin Sheets is undoubtedly the Sox MIP (Most Improved Player).  Sheets went 2 for 4 and had the game's Web Gem with a diving catch from right field.  The Sox leap past the A's for second place in the MABL standings for now and have their sights set on the powerhouse Yankees.

White Sox 13  Rangers 8

Rangers 15  White Sox 11

The weather was perfect for baseball.  The White Sox took the first game with superb pitching by Troy Flood.  The veteran's curve ball was simply mesmerizing.  Boudreaux, Floyd, and Fortin went 3 for 4 for the game.  In the second game, the Rangers got their bats going as Sox starter Alex Fortin put a few on and then let a few go.  The Rangers three-spot hitter, Tomlin, went 2 for 2 with two home runs including a grand salami off reliever Joey Faubus who was on loan from the Reds that spoiled the comeback attempt.  The bright spot for the Sox was closer Andy Miller who threw the final two frames with a surreal fastball that certainly cleared the 90mph mark.

It Was A Great Day For Baseball

White Sox 13 Yankees 9

Soxs beat Yankees in eight.  Yankees lost a seven run lead in the last two frames to lose their first game of the year 13-11.The Yankees scored first with three in the first and four in the second. The Yankees had a string of six straight hits in the second.  Everything going Yankees way till top of the seventh when Troy Flood and Alex Fortin rallied the troops and scored five runs on three hits.  It was scrappy ball. The Soxs would not die till the last out and after that third out it was tied. Yankees tried to end it in the bottom half with a long fly ball from Tony Adams but came up short at the track. Sox scored four runs in the eighth on a clutch two RBI single by Troy Flood. In the bottom half the Yankees loaded the bases put the go ahead run at first, when Troy Flood had seen enough from his closer took the ball himself and struck out the next two batters to end the game. "If anyone was due to take one from the Yank's it's Troy" (Chris Mileham) "this Soxs/Yankees thing has been going on now for five years, both teams look forward to this match up every year".--Chris Mileham

Yankees 14 White Sox 6

Yankees win six straight as game one of a Sunday double header was all Yankees. The Yankees scored five runs in the first.  Sox fought back and plated two on Boudreaux and Fortin's back to back singles.  In the third three straight singles from Yankee hitters Heath Stanley, Chris Mileham, Tommy Burton loaded the bags for Tony Adams, who hit a 1-0 pitch deep out of Phillips park, Tony's second homerun of the year.  Sox cut into the ten run lead in the forth with Boudreaux leading the inning off with single, a double by Floyd drove in two. Thompson added with an RBI single.  This making the game 12-6  Manager Chris Mileham stopped the bleeding with Chris Perkins, first year Yankee who pitched two innings giving up one hit. striking out four.  Braden Watson picked up his third win, Braden had eight strikeouts, moves his mark to 3-0 as a starter.  Sox scored six runs on nine hits... Boudreaux and Fortin combined for six hits. The Yankee line was fourteen runs on thirteen hits.--Chris MIleham

White Sox 13  Los Diablos 10

The Diablos put up a good fight at the end, but the Sox held off the late game attack.  Troy Flood pitched a stellar 8 innings striking out 6 and the save went to Jerry Don Kelley in relief in the 9th.  Kelley was given the game's "Web Gem" award with one of the most impressive lay-out catches in center that I have ever seen in this league.  The Sox defense stood strong with all starters back in the line up and it showed as they turned a triple play in the 5th.  Rookie Andy Miller smacked his second homer of the year over the 390 mark in center.  Boudreaux went 4 for 5, Brock Moore was 2 for 3 with a double, and rookie Rusty Story scored three runs in his debut.  The White Sox are losinig two long-time stars in Deanthony Hall and Alan Garrison as both are moving out of state next week.  They will be sorely missed.

Athletics 16 White Sox 0

Geez...this is the type of outcome that occurs when folks don't show up for the games.  We had 6 of 9 starters gone and it showed on the field.  Starting pitcher Jon Thompson was a little off center today, but his defense let him down.  Reliever Alex Fortin was unable to stop the bleeding as the Sox offense left their bats at home.  Without looking at the book...maybe 2 hits on the entire day.

White Sox 9 Hurricanes 6

Another great battle.  Troy Flood pitched a dandy from end to end stumping the young power-hitters from the Hurricane squad.  The Sox looked to be the Bugs Bunny squad against the giants from the Mudville 9 at the outset.   However, the Sox rattled the bats early and held the lead despite some tense moments.  Newcomer Andy Miller was a warrior behind the plate and contributed a monster home run.  No doubt, the Hurricanes will be a force in games to come.  Defensive gems for the Sox came from Harderson, Moore, Fraley, and Miller.

White Sox 12 Yankees 13

What a great battle.  The Yanks and Sox have always battled hard in head-to-head competition.  Both starting pitchers faired better than the score indicated.  However, both teams rattled the bats as the game see-sawed back and forth.  The game started a bit late as White Sox coach, Stephen Boudreaux, was in a car accident on the way to the park.  All's well, but the truck was totaled.  Lady ran a stop sign.  Newcomer, Kenni Floyd had a great game at the plate along with Brock Moore, Steve Jones, and Jon Thompson.
